Break of structure or session noise
How we teach traders to pause before renaming the map after a sharp London or New York spike.
A spike through a prior high during a thin minute does not automatically rewrite the daily map. In review sessions we ask two questions first: which timeframe owns the structure label, and what close would confirm the break?
If your swing map lives on the four-hour chart, a one-minute excursion is information about liquidity, not an invitation to flip the entire trend label. Traders who rush that rename often spend the next day defending a map that never earned confirmation.
Keep a short written rule: “Breaks require a close beyond X on timeframe Y.” Boring sentences prevent expensive rewrites.
